It breaks my heart to see so many Amazon sellers I've known give up and throw in the towel.
Whether it's the tariffs freezing their businesses or simply not knowing how to handle the uncertainty.
Or it's the flood of competition where they're seemingly the last non-Chinese seller.
Or just flat out the unit economics of the business not working out.
It breaks my heart to see so many sellers quitting.
Ever since I started writing 80/20 of E-commerce newsletter way back in 2016…
My mission has been to help ecom sellers grow, scale, and exit their businesses.
Over the years, we've seen some crazy highs during the pandemic where Covid was like a shot of grow serum in the arm of sellers as they scaling to the sky…
And exiting their businesses at 4 to 6x multiples.
We've seen things come down, and right it's at a low point.
Seller registrations are at 10 year lows.
The sentiment is not as optimistic as before…
However, as the saying goes…
With crisis comes opportunity.
Right now we're at a generational shift with AI, which is changing so quickly.
It astounds me that ChatGPT, which was everyone's darling just a couple years ago, now seems to be on the brink of death.
An open source agentic AI tool called OpenClaw came onto the scene just three weeks ago and shifted the landscape.
AI chat tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini seemingly have become commodities — harnessed by AI agentic tools like OpenClaw that literally can do everything for you.
It's not a perfect technology.
There definitely is a learning curve getting things set up.
There are potential security risks if you don't get things set up properly.
On the whole, we're seeing 10x leverage from people using OpenClaw versus people that are not.
Using OpenClaw means that you have a team of AI co-workers working for you 24/7.
They don't get tired and their only cost is the cost of tokens — with seemingly endless possibilities.
As you saw from my earlier training this week, there's at least 9 applications for Amazon and e-commerce sellers where you can leverage OpenClaw to save time, to get more work done, and to grow your profitability.
Right now we're at a crossroads in February 2026 and it's a K-shaped economy.
Which way will you go?
