Plus Balancing Entreneurship with being a dad
The clock is ticking.
90 days. That's all we've got before the current tariff relief potentially evaporates and, according to my friend Dan Krassenstein (40 years in supply chain), things get "like a tornado in your face."
I just got off a 45-minute call with Dan that left me one big takeaway: "Ship everything. NOW."
Here's why: Chinese labor now costs $1,200/month (up 50% since 2018).
Freight capacity is about to be "chock-block full." And that temporary tariff drop from 145% to 30%? Dan's betting it snaps back unless China makes major concessions.
But this isn't a doom-and-gloom newsletter. It's a playbook.
Inside you’ll learn
the reasons behind why the tariffs could rebound sharply after 90 days,
why India's $300/month labor requires a 2.5x productivity adjustment, and
what specific moves you need to make in the next 90 days.
Plus, I'm getting personal about juggling fatherhood with running multiple businesses – because what good is a huge exit if you miss your kid's childhood?
Let's dive into what actually matters this week 👇
🌪️ "Like a Tornado in Your Face" - What a 40-Year Supply Chain Veteran Sees Coming
I just wrapped an urgent conversation with my longtime friend Dan Krassenstein, a 40-year supply chain veteran who manages teams across China and India.
His take on the new 90-day tariff window (down from 145% to 30%)? "It's going to get worse" once it expires.
Dan's not one for drama - but he's telling clients to prepare for supply chain disruptions "like a tornado in your face."
After decades of navigating every major trade crisis, he sees what's coming: freight capacity will be "chock-block full," rates will spike, and that temporary tariff relief?
He predicts "bad news" after 90 days unless China makes major concessions.
Here's the reality check every seller needs:
China labor now costs $1,200/month (up from $800 in 2018),
Vietnam runs $700-800/month, and
India sits at $300/month
but you need 2.5 Indian workers to match one Chinese worker's productivity.
Dan's advice is blunt:
ship NOW while you can, be ready to pay premium freight rates, and
build your Plan B sourcing immediately.
Chinese factories keep commitments 9 out of 10 times;
Indian factories are where China was 20 years ago.
If you're still 100% dependent on China, this 45-minute interview might be the most important video you watch this month.

Running multiple businesses — from the 7 Figure Seller Summit to 80/20 Sourcing and helping brands launch in Japan’s e-commerce market — is a full-time job. But so is being a dad.
As a father to a six-year-old son, I’ve learned that success at work means very little if I’m not showing up at home. This journey isn’t something I’ve mastered — it’s something I’m continuously working to balance.
What’s Working for Me:
I block non-negotiable “Daddy Duty” time every weekday and make breakfasts sacred for connection.
Weekends are for family — and yes, church is part of that rhythm.
My social life has evolved — less about cocktail bars, more about playdates and parks.
My wife and I carve out Thursday lunch dates to nurture our marriage.
I'm teaching my son to code, even though I’m learning it just one week ahead (thank you, AI).
The key for me is intentional planning. I treat family time with the same respect I give my work meetings — because both matter.
There’s no perfect balance — only constant recalibration. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: showing up with presence, on both fronts, is the most important work I do.
